Third MSE Day at Hereon

MSE (Materials Systems Engineering) is one of three programs within the Research Field Information of the Helmholtz Association.

On November 14, 2023, Hereon in Geesthacht hosts the third MSE Day. Scientists from KIT, FZJ and Hereon from the Helmholtz “Materials Systems Engineering” program – one of the three programs of the Helmholtz Research Field Information – will present their latest research findings and developments there. This provides professionals and those interested in the MSE program, as well as other researchers of the Research Field Information, an excellent platform to inform themselves about current trends in this innovative field of research.

The day’s agenda includes a deep dive into the most recent highlights from the MSE program’s core areas. Furthermore, a standout lecture by Prof. Dr. Berend Smit from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne titled “Big-data in chemistry and chemical engineering” is eagerly anticipated.

Professor Christof Wöll, leader of KIT’s Institute of Functional Interfaces (IFG) and spokesperson of the Program MSE in the Helmholtz Research Field Information, remarked, “Over the past 12 months, Materials Generative AI has emerged, accelerating new material discovery through AI, data science, and robotic synthesis. MSE Day will spotlight these advancements with presentations from field pioneers and contributions from participating Helmholtz centers”.
